Ping i Irons - Hit more Greens, Hold More Greens
The Ping I Iron features head and hosel designs engineered for workability and trajectory control throughout the set. A thin top rail and less offset help inspire confidence at address while assisting in precision approach shots. The i is custom-engineered with 431 stainless steel for its high strength-to-weight ratio and softer feel. Weight savings from the 431 steel and the deeper CTP position allow for expanded perimeter weighting in a head design that delivers workability and trajectory control with forgiveness.
Larger head sizes and low/back center of gravity positions in the long irons offer forgiveness and distance where you need them most. The smaller short irons and wedges provide precision and control.
Lengths and lofts are optimized to increase distance with proper gapping. The sole glides through the turf with ease, ensuring the solid contact required to play with control and consistency. An optimized, versatile bounce profile delivers exceptional performance in all conditions.
Ping i Iron Technology
PING offers a variety of shaft flexes
in steel and graphite to meet every golfer's needs and preferences. Selecting the proper shaft flex for your swing will help you get the most distance and accuracy from every shot. Generally, players with faster swing speeds require stiffer shafts to keep the ball trajectory lower, while players with slower swing speeds will require more flexible shafts to produce a higher ball trajectory.
The choice of Steel or Graphite
The choice of steel or graphite shafts is usually based on preferences for weight and/or feel. Players seeking a lighter overall weight and/or a softer feel in their irons may prefer graphite shafts, while players who prefer a standard weight club with a firmer feel may prefer steel shafts.
