Oregon 550t has a built-in 3-axis tilt-compensated electronic compass, which shows your heading even when you’re standing still, without holding it level. Its barometric altimeter tracks changes in pressure to pinpoint your precise altitude.

With high-sensitivity, WAAS-enabled GPS receiver and HotFix™ satellite prediction, Oregon 550t locates your position quickly and precisely and maintains its GPS location even in heavy cover and urban landscapes.

Explore Backcountry in 3-D

Oregon 550t's preloaded European Topographic map, 3D map view and a built-in worldwide basemap with shaded relief give you all the tools for serious climbing or hiking. Map detail is simple and easy to read, and includes terrain contours at 100m intervals, land use information, rivers, lakes and street-level detail for 29 countries across Europe. The European preloaded map corresponds to an approximate detail of a 1:100,000 scale map. And, just in case you’re wondering how steep that hill really is, Oregon’s 3D map view helps you visualise your surroundings — giving you a better perspective of the elevation.

Conveniently plug in optional preloaded microSD cards for all your outdoor activities – whether you are walking, driving, or on the water.

On the trail a Garmin GB Discoverer™ microSD card gives detailed topographic and Ordnance Survey map detail, showing terrain contours, summits, trails and more.

On the road you can add Garmin GB Discoverer™ or City Navigator mapping for detailed street maps and turn-by-turn directions to your destination.

On the water you can add BlueChart® g2 maps which provide information such as depth contours, full charting and harbours.

The Oregon is compatible with Garmin’s heart-rate monitors and speed/cadence sensors and can track your speed, distance, elevation and location.
